San Tai San Most Successful Yet!
The 3rd Annual San Tai San: 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was held on May 12. The event, part of the Japanese American Cultural and Community CenterŐs ChildrenŐs Day Festival, is co-sponsored by the Little Tokyo Recreation Center. This year a record-high 50 teams participated, bringing 200 8-13 year olds plus their parents, siblings and grandparents to Little Tokyo. The event featured skills competition and appearances by Pac-10 champion Stanford's Lyndsey Yamasaki, and UCLA's Natalie Nakase. Both Lyndsey and Natalie gave the Rec Center "a hand" on the Handprint Petition! |
